William Michael Hanrahan's Obituary
Mr. William Michael Hanrahan, 88, of Cornelius, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 at his home surrounded by family.
William was a native of Richmond Hill, NY, the son of Michael and Catherine Hanrahan. He attended St. Mark Catholic Church of Huntersville. William was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. He was a retired printer for Newsday with 25 years of service. William was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marie Ann Hanrahan, eight brothers; Michael, Edward, Joseph, James, Vincent, John, Frances, Robert, and a sister, Bridgett.
Mr. Hanrahan is survived by his children; William Hanrahan, Jr., (Victoria) of Huntersville, NC, Patricia Lagonia (Kenneth) of Davidson, NC, grandchildren; Kari Bonnes, Colleen Fitzgerald (Howard) of Cornelius, NC; Katherine Reynolds (Terrance) of Davidson, NC, Conor Hanrahan of Salt Lake City, Utah, Leah Hanrahan of Huntersville, NC, Michael Monahan of Sayville, NY, great-grandchildren; Madison and Ryan Bonnes, Patrick Fitzgerald, Lola Reynolds, Alex and MacKenzie Monahan.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 16 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Huntersville. Committal will be held at Saint Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
