William Rivers Peyton II's Obituary
William Rivers Peyton, II, age 81, of Huntersville, NC, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025. He was born on July 7, 1944, and lived a life defined by quiet strength, steady dedication, and a deep love for the people around him.
Bill was known for his strong work ethic and quick wit, qualities that made him both dependable and endlessly enjoyable to be around. He loved staying busy and took pride in being the person his family could always call—no matter the time, no matter the need. To those who knew him, he was a calm presence, a trusted listener, and a source of unwavering support.
Above all else, Bill’s greatest joy came from his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished every moment he spent with them.
He is survived by his daughters, Wendy (Eric) Gorman and their children Peyton, Benjamin, and Jacob; and Leigh Ann (Drew) Anderson and her son Tyler, as well as Tyler’s daughter, Dakota. He is also survived by his sister, Rebecca (Steven) Huntsinger, and their children and grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Bill found happiness in life’s simple, meaningful moments—sharing stories, enjoying a good laugh, and creating memories that his family will carry with them always.
Holidays, especially Christmas, were his favorite time of year. He brought warmth and joy to the season as well as cherished traditions his family will continue in his honor. He leaves behind a legacy of love, stability, and countless treasured memories. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, watching over them with the same gentle care he gave so freely in life.
