William Thomas Spicker's Obituary
William Thomas Spicker, 80, of Charlotte, received the gift of eternal life on April 25, 2022.
Bill (also known as Tom to many) was from Pittsburgh, PA and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh. He and Gretchen lived in Rochester, NY for 36 years, where they raised their family. After retiring from Xerox in 2003, they moved to Charlotte, NC. He loved the Lord, his family and friends, and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid golfer, an active member of his church, served on Young Life Committee for many years and enjoyed all types of games, sports (Go Steelers!) and travel.
Mr. Spicker is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gretchen; their children Brenda Boggs of Berea, KY, Brian Spicker (Melanie Custer) of Charlotte, NC, and Becky Metzger (Robert Metzger) of Mooresville, NC; grandchildren Brynn and Bethany Boggs, and Emma, Katelyn and Tyler Metzger; sister Dorothy Pierson (Robert Pierson) of Pittsburgh, PA; sister-in-law Janet Wilcox (Robert Wilcox); and five nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Louise Spicker.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 on Friday, May 13 at StoneBridge Church Community, 3700 Prosperity Church Road, Charlotte, NC 28269. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Young Life PO Box 620003, Charlotte, NC 28262 and StoneBridge Church Community - Placed for a Purpose Vision stonebridge.org/give.
