William Wally's Obituary
Mr. William DeLynn Wally Sr., 89, of Cornelius died January 8, 2013, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House, Huntersville. He was born on April 9, 1923 in Mecklenburg County, the son of the late Lester Allen Wally and Gussie Caldwell Wally.
He is survived by a daughter, Deborah W. Nelson of Huntersville; three sons, W. Barry Wally and wife Kerry of Huntersville, William D. Wally Jr. and wife Denise of Albany, GA. and Charles L. Wally of Cornelius; a sister, Betty Jo Smith of Belmont; and Pamela Deakins of Ruther Glen, VA. daughter of Virginia Wally; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Turner Wally; daughter, Lynn W. Morrow; and sisters, Ellen Celeste Wally Hastings and Mary Charles Wally Atwell.
He graduated from Cornelius High School class of 1940. Following graduation he was appointed to the FBI, Washington Bureau.
Mr. Wally was a Veteran of WWII, rank of Sergeant US Army 53RD Field Hospital, serving in Normandy, Northern France and Central Europe.
He was employed with EBCAP Supply Company and Westburne Supply Company in Atlanta for thirty years.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 11am in the chapel of James Funeral Home, 10520 Arahova Dr. Huntersville, NC. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. J.E. Wayland, Jr. will officiate.
