Willie McManus' Obituary
Willie McManus,101,of Huntersville, NC passed away on November 5, 2022.
Willie was born in Mt. Airy, NC to William and Dina Norman. At the age of 5 Willie, along with her siblings went to live at The Methodist Children’s Home in Winston-Salem, NC. Later Willie would work for the Department of Clinics at Bowman Gray School of Medicine. After moving to Cary, NC, her love of golf lead her to become a Charter Member of MacGregor Downs Country Club where she later met her third husband Willis. She was very active at White Plains Methodist Church and served as chairman of the altar Guild for 28 years. She also spent many years volunteering for meals on wheels. In her final year she enjoyed reading on her iPad, texting her friends and family, and watching the blue birds in her back yard.
Willie is preceded in death by her husband Willis McManus,Jr., and her siblings, sister Frances Turner and brother Roger Norman.
Willie is survived by her step-daughter, Gaenel Witherspoon and her husband Charlie, step-sons Warren McManus and Daniel McManus and his wife Kay, her neice, Leslie Guetter and her husband Larry, and her great nieces Marcia, Amanda and Hannah.
Memorials may be made to Hopewell Presbyterian Church of Huntersville or White Plains Methodist Church in Cary, North Carolina.
