Marilyn Mckinley
So sorry to learn of Mr. Ervin’s passing. I guess you could say he was my hero. He hired me as his secretary back in the early 70’s with no legal experience at all. In fact, I don’t think I had ever seen a deed or deed of trust and most certainly had never transcribed a legal contract. Mr. Ervin was so patient in answering any questions I had about legal documents. This began my career as a paralegal which extended thru my retirement
To this day, every time I eat a tomato sandwich, I think of Winfred Ervin. That was his lunch about every day when tomatoes were in season. Of course, the tomatoes came from his garden; and the sandwiches were so soggy by lunchtime that I would sometimes suggest he use a fork!
My sincere condolences to Virginia and all the family. Mr. Ervin leaves behind a great legacy. He was certainly my hero.
Sincerely,
Marilyn McKinley
