Woodley Maxwell's Obituary
Woodley (Woody) Eugene Maxwell, of Charlotte, passed away January 26, 2022.
Woody was born on November 9, 1934, in Cabarrus County to the late William Jackson Maxwell and the late Effie Brice Maxwell. Woody was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Anne Maxwell, granddaughter Amy Taylor Harvell, brothers; Frank, Fred, and Bill Maxwell. Woody is survived by his daughter Carol Taylor, husband Tim of Huntersville, and his little dog Happy.
Woody was a veteran of the United States Army serving overseas. He retired from the trucking industry. He enjoyed traveling and gardening with his wife. He was an active member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, working on the annual barbeques, hot dog Thursdays and fellowship.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM on Friday February 4th at Oak Grove United Methodist Church 6440 Old Statesville Rd. Charlotte, NC 28269. The Funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. Mask will be required inside the church, thank you. There will be a graveside service at Gethsemane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens 1504 W. Sugar Creek Rd. Charlotte, NC 28262.
