Wyatt LeDoux's Obituary
Wyatt Marcelus LeDoux, 27, of Charlotte was welcomed into heaven on March 31, 2026. He was born on January 15, 1999 in Hendersonville, NC. Born to Kirk Matthew LeDoux and Melanie Thelen LeDoux, Wyatt was their miracle baby.
Wyatt was a strong, humble, joyful, and deeply loved man, gifted in countless ways that he used to bless the world with. He lived full-heartedly and his love for life and the little things in it was infectious. He didn’t need many words for you to recognize that he was a well of wisdom and understanding, and at the same time he was the funniest person you knew.
He was a man of unwavering faith; he knew what he believed and lived it every day. He believed in God’s will over our lives and in “God things”, of which he saw many. He believed in the power of prayer, always remembering family, friends and acquaintances in his daily prayers and would drop everything to cover someone in prayer when there was an immediate need. Wyatt studied religion and was confident and grounded in the hope he found in his Savior. At age 17 he chose to be publicly baptized. He wholeheartedly believed in eternal life, which he is now experiencing in its fullness.
He was a fiercely devoted, truly loving husband to Emily, exhibiting a heart full of grace, humility, generosity, and endless kindness and humor. He was always the quickest to forgive and love unconditionally. Wyatt was full of surprise, and he brought endless fun, laughter and adventure to their relationship, enjoying traveling and experiencing new things together. Wyatt asked Emily to marry him in January of 2023 at the very top of their favorite place to visit together, South Mountain State Park, and they tied the knot in October of 2023.
He was a proud and attentive father to his daughter, his “munchkin”, always thinking of her first and prioritizing sweet time with her even after long days. His heart was so soft towards her; he loved making her laugh and watching her learn new things, calling her “impressive” and “cracked”. She was his pride and joy, and he loved being a father. He sacrificed and worked tirelessly for his family, well beyond the work day, thinking of them in every decision he made. He was simply the best there is.
Wyatt was a loving and dependable son and brother. His love ran deep for his family, always having them on his mind, relaying family anecdotes and deeply valuing family traditions. Having been homeschooled allowed him to spend much more life alongside his family, strengthening bonds and creating many memories.
He was a wonderful and lifelong friend, and made everyone feel seen and valued as a person, remembering small details about them, making them feel special in a way only he could. Wyatt was a good-hearted neighbor, calling hello to neighbors by name, and always willing to lend a hand. He was more than happy to invite a group of neighbor children into his home for a Christmas party with pizza, gifts and games to give them a memorable Christmas.
Wyatt graduated with honors from UNCC, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and his Master’s Degree in Applied Energy and Electromechanical Engineering. He excelled in his role as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Norton Rixson, where he was well-loved and respected. He was known there for his always cheerful attitude, dedication to giving his all to every project, and his ability to think creatively to improve existing products and create new, never before seen products to serve the company well. In August he earned first place at the annual ASSA ABLOY Innovation Challenge, where around 250 ideas were submitted from 12 different countries. Following this achievement, he went on to lead the team through every step of development- designing, prototyping, testing, sourcing, manufacturing, marketing, and finally, selling the product. This project was the fastest of any Innovation Challenge projects brought to market since the event began in 2015, a clear reflection of Wyatt’s determination. He also filed a patent for the idea which is currently under review. Wyatt built meaningful relationships with his work family and often shared stories after his work days with them.
Wyatt was incredibly creative, having the unique vision to make nothing into something useful or beautiful. There was nothing he couldn’t do or fix, and if he didn’t know how, he certainly learned it and then mastered it. His ambition and perseverance carried him far. His passions and giftings were too many to count. He had a natural talent for countless hobbies, enjoying his leather working, woodworking, designing, and restoring things. One of his favorite possessions was his 2000 yellow Ford Ranger; he loved that it was considered “vintage” and drove it every day. He was a self-taught musician and music lived in him. He made lively music on his guitar and piano, and had a beautiful voice. He was a great song-writer, but also loved making up silly tunes, or changing words to songs to sing around the house to make his wife and daughter smile. He used his gift of music to lead worship at youth group as a teenager, where he met Emily in 2016. He worshipped in such a way that had his mom raising her hands in worship from down in the living room. Wyatt enjoyed his Johnny Cash, oldies, and his country music. He also spent many hours experimenting with food and cooking delicious meals for friends and family. He loved creating his own concoctions and taking food one step further, and was recently enjoying cooking many Alton Brown recipes.
Wyatt had a unique way of making people laugh. He was a gifted actor and voice actor and his impersonations had no match. His family would beg him to do impersonations or tell his hilarious stories again and again which he would, gladly. He was goofy, and just purely himself. He had a movie quote, often from his favorite movie, The Princess Bride, for every occasion.
Wyatt will be painfully missed and joyfully remembered in every room. Every life that he touched is forever changed by his kindness, humble spirit, and love. He was a gift to this world for his 27 years, and his legacy will live on through his daughter who already shares so many meaningful, beautiful traits with her daddy.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife Emily Claire Chaney LeDoux; daughter, Colette Nova LeDoux; grandmothers, Glenna Fontenot LeDoux and Caroline Ray Thelen; brothers, Preston (Perla), Roman, James, Jesse; nieces, Amelia and Adela; nephew, Oliver; and many aunts and uncles, and cousins.
Celebration of life services will be announced at a later date.
