Wynee Wally's Obituary
At the age of 98, our precious mother, grandmother and friend, Wynee Wally went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 15, 2021.
A resident of Cornelius, NC, she was born on May 20, 1923 in Iredell County to the late Ralph and Emma Gabriel.
Wynee was a member of Grace Covenant Church in Cornelius, NC, a graduate and valedictorian of Cornelius High School, class of 1940. She was a full time homemaker along with being bookkeeper of her husband’s masonry business, a part time courier for First Union National Bank, Cornelius, NC and traveled alongside her husband to assist on several building team missions in the Caribbean and Central America.
She was married to Otis Wally for 58 years and is survived by her children, Darryl Wally (Shirley) of Pittsboro, NC, Cindy Robinette of Cornelius, NC, Amy Lee (Robert) of Concord, NC, Laura Tadlock (Tad) of Fairview, NC; grandchildren, Alaa Craddock, Kasen Wally, Matthew Robinette, Becky Robinette, Julie Lusk, Kristin Jordan, Britney Hunt, Micah Tadlock; great-grandchildren, Frannie and Glady Craddock, Sam Robinette, Riley and Mason Lusk, Madasyn Jordan, Isla and Linden Hunt, and Wyatt Tadlock.
There was a private family burial service Monday, May 17, 2021 at Mt. Zion U.M.C. in Cornelius with Pastor Farrell Lemmings officiating.
A service celebrating the life of Wynee will be held at 2 PM Saturday, May 22 at Grace Covenant Church with Pastor Farrell Lemmings officiating. Visitation will follow at the church.
In honor of her dedicated devotion to missions and her personal battle with macular degeneration, we ask memorials be made to Above and Beyond Missions Foundation, 19837 S. Main St. Cornelius, NC 28031 or the Metrolina Association for the Blind, 704-372-3870.
