Bret Haynes' Obituary
Bret passed away peacefully at his home on March 28, 2025, at the age of 43, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. His family was by his side.
Bret is survived by his loving spouse and partner, Sarah, and his cherished son, Little Bret (LB), who was the light of his life. He also leaves behind his parents, Marcie Haynes and Will Haynes, his sister, Deanna Haynes, and a close circle of family and friends who will forever treasure his memory.
Bret was born on January 7, 1982, in Fayetteville, NC. Bret had an active and adventurous childhood. Skateboarding, bike riding, speed skating, dirt bike riding, going on adventures in the woods, playing baseball, making movies with his camcorder, and playing Nintendo were some of his favorite things to do.
He proudly served in the United States Army for four years, including deployments to the Middle East.
Bret transitioned from military service to civilian service with a defense contracting company and was tasked with allocation and management of financial resources and regularly collaborated with the Pentagon.
Bret’s next career path was in fleet management for any type of equipment resulting in his most recent position as senior service fleet manager.
Bret was a devoted partner and father who cherished every moment spent with Sarah and LB - whether they were detailing cars, cheering at baseball games, cruising around the lake on their boat, or grilling in their backyard.
Bret’s humor, strength, and resilience touched many lives, and his memory will live forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Northlake Memorial Gardens in Huntersville, NC, followed by a reception at Bret’s favorite family spot, Hawthorne’s Pizza, 5814 Highland Shoppes Drive, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his life.
