Carl Jacobs' Obituary
Carl Richard Jacobs, 79, of Canton, Ohio, a long time resident of Cornelius, NC, died Monday, June 20, 2011, at Levine-Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC. Carl was born at his parent's home on March 3, 1932 in East Canton, OH.
Carl, one of four brothers and a sister, and the eldest son of Frank Vernon and Pauline May Jacobs, was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Evelyn O. Jacobs; son Jerry Jacobs, daughter Meta Arrendale, his brothers Ronny, Bobby, Johnny and sister Wilma. He is survived by his brother Jim of Parma, OH, sons, Paul Arrendale and wife Eileen of Canton, OH, Del Arrendale and wife Judy of Cornelius, NC, Carl, Jr (Jason) Jacobs and wife Cindi of Canton, OH, Frank Jacobs and wife Lynn of Charlotte, NC; daughters, Donna Arrendale and husband Terry Hamilton of Atlanta, GA and Eva Jacobs Holbrook of Cornelius, NC; 18 Grandchildren and 23 Great Grandchildren. Carl, a Korean War Veteran, was awarded the Korean Service medal while serving in Korea in 1950-1. He retired as housekeeping supervisor from Presbyterian Hospital in 1986.
A memorial service will be held Saturday June 25 at 1:00 PM at the Cornelius Church of God with Rev. Larry Joyner officiating. The family will receive friends and a meal will be served following the service.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to his home church, Cornelius Church of God, or to Levine-Dickson Hospice House c/o Del Arrendale, 20484 G Chartwell Center Drive, Cornelius, NC.
