I was so saddened by the loss of Cindi. I first met her when she moved to Charlotte and she worked as a sign language interpreter at Central Piedmont Community College. She was a valued team member. She was well respected by her follow interpreters and the students adored her. I was fortunate to work with her in at the Charlotte Sorenson Center and we often shared stories about our cats. She made such a positive impact in the Charlotte Deaf and Interpreting community. She always spoke kind words and her smile was infectious. You could feel her gentle spirit when she entered a room, and she had the cutest laugh.
I will remember Cindi most for her quiet witness and graciousness. Remembering her loved ones in prayers. Rest in Peace until we meet again! Sam McCord

So sorry to hear about Cindi's passing (I knew her first as Cindy Sharp!) Like many, we became friends at D.F. McClatchey Elementary School in Atlanta. We then moved on to Dykes High School and ultimately finished together at North Fulton High School - class of 1975. Fond memories of this dear friend are flowing through my mind and heart! I was always amazed how many Sharp siblings she had and how close they were! As one of the first in our class to get her driver's license, our 'group' was SO envious of the new 1973 Toyota Celica that she received from her mom! That was one benefit of being the 'baby' of the Sharp family! We lost touch through the years, but happily saw each other again a few years ago at a high school reunion - she was as beautiful then as I remember her in high school. Dear, dear Cindi/Cindy - even after all these years, EVERY time I hear the song "Close to You" by The Carpenters, I remember how much you LOVED it and how you would break into song!
