I'm saddened to hear of the passing of Uncle Danny. He was a good man, husband, father and grandfather. Though we were separated by distance, I have many fond memories of him.
Giving my brothers and I chocolate pop tarts in the morning when we stayed over at his house and letting us have fun playing in the basement. On our way to see Nana in the car from Jersey to Philly, when it was just him and I and him teaching me how to use the radio and just asking me about life... quiet a question for nine year old to answer. Of course there were boat rides and a few fishing trips where I even caught a few fish.
I take solace in the fact that I know he had a good and full life and a loving family. I'm also happy that I got to see him again in North Carolina before the pandemic hit, since it had been nearly twelve years since I had seen him. He still had a heavy foot on the gas pedal, even for an old guy. Blessed by Nana with good looks, a big heart and a one of a kind smile. If you're lucky enough to be Irish, then you are lucky enough.
Rest easy Uncle Danny, I will miss you.
