David Vail's Obituary
David George Vail, age 72, peacefully passed away at home on Monday, Januray 16th, 2017, after a hard battle with cancer. He was born on July 31st, 1944 in Salsbury, Maryland to is father, George Vail and mother Lorraine Furcht. He grew up in Port Washington Long Island, New York. David graduated from Morningside College in Iowa where he played his passion, basketball. He was the assistant dean of students, and President of the dormitories. He coached girls’ basketball at Morningside College after graduation, and also recreational basketball, baseball and soccer. During his career, he worked for General Foods and as a national sales manager for Nabisco Foods. He was the founder and CEO of Vail & Associates in Miami, Florida. David was known for his enthusiasm, motivation and passion for people, but most of all for his love for his Boxer dogs. David was a man of faith and loved the Lord. He was a member of Community in Christ Lutheran Church in Cornelius, NC. He is survived by his wife Debra, daughter Courtney (Pittsonberger), son Matthew, Son-In-Law Jason (Pittsonberger), grandson Jaxon (Pittsonberger), sister Judy (Webster), Brother-In Law Bruce (Webster), nephew Keith (Webster), niece Lore (Webster-Long), and niece Susie Leigh (Roberts). The family would like to thank the many doctors and their staff who helped David along the way, including: Dr. Rebecca Elliot, Dr. Timothy Quo, and Dr. John Powderly.
