I'm so very sorry to hear of the passing of another veteran of the heroic 164th Infantry Regiment. His name will be listed in The Last Roll Call of the March 2012 newsmagazine and he will be remembered at the annual reunion in September. Our sympathies.
My sympathies go out to Lee, Dolly and their families. "Pete" was one of the kindest, most generous people I've known. He was always ready with a joke or witticism. Again, my sympathy.
My sympathies to Doug, Terry, Dolly, Lee and families. I'll always remember DeForest for his friendliness, enthusiasm, vibrancy, and devotion to Valley City and VC athletics.

We were fortunate to have known DeForest and Dolly through our parents, Bump and Evelyn Jensen, whom lived next door to them in Valley City. We were always greeted by a generous smile and good conversation when we would see DeForest or Dolly. We will pass this information unto Bump at the nursing home here in Perham.
