Often times I think of my late grandfather. He was an amazing father, grandfather, friend, boss, cohort, and sometimes partner in crime..( not really!) I was surprised to learn of Dwight's passing. It should be noted that he was a great aerobatic pilot in his Pitts Special. He performed in airshows all over the south. In 1970 he taught me aerobatics in his Citabria. He was a true friend and will be missed by all.

I'm heart broken,, I don't even know where to begin, Dwight had a huge influence in my life and my family's as well, he gave me a chance and I took it... He treated me as though I was family, the airport the shop where he gave me a job I cherish those memories everyday!! He was a good man. Tommy, Rusty and Jeanette my heart pours for you... I have lost my Best Friend and Brother Quiet Birdman......since the mid 50's we both enjoyed our Children and our Flying...first his PT-22 and my 1939 J3 Cub, we flew wing to wing all over until we went to his Chitabaca((DARN i CAN'T SPELL IT) AND MY 175 Cessna..... he taught me many things incl formation flying.... I was his forward pilot who did the support for him many many airshows in the SE...He was a great Air Show Pilot....often too daring but successful and a favorite to the crowds..I witnessed them all....except the ROCK ??? Their two sons should have their middle name as mine as Jane and I practically raised them in their early ages....We both loved them.....

Jeanette, Rusty and Tommy. I am saddened to hear about the passing of Dwight. I know he will be missed by all of you, but I will miss him too. I have very fond memories of my favorite Little League Baseball coach. He and others spent thousands of volunteer hours teaching kids like me the fundamentals of baseball. I also remember some special vacation times with your Family to Ocean Drive, SC. I also remember Dwight would get out his movie camera and record various kid birthday parties in the neighborhood and other fun events. I still have one of those he made for my parents on my 4th or 5th birthday.

I also remember my first airplane ride with Dwight. Man...was that some kind of amazing thing for a little guy. I know Dwight worked hard at everything he did. I believe he made our community a far better place to live and I am honored to have known him along with all of you. Hugs to all of you.
