We are so sorry to hear of Rusty’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with Angel and the Cross Family
Rusty was not only a rare native to the “North Mecklenburg” area, but he was a genuine Southern gentleman. From the long ago days as classmates at Junior High and then on to North Meck “Red Neck Tech” , Rusty was always the friend who was sincere and loyal! After college he returned to his hometown being the only HONEST SALESMAN IN THE AREA. I also worked the type of job as he did but in general my sales were the workings of small family owned business. Rusty and I also worked together when came to buying the trucks for our business. When began to grow, The friend in Rusty always treated us well. To his loving family, Rusty was loved. He was respected. He was sincere and honest. From Carl & Nancy we will be lost without your experience with cars v
Rusty, never one for fuss about him. But, you won’t too much if all classmates wore blue and white with a name tag from the year you were in Rusty’s orbit. Oh what an Orbit is!
To his family, his fiancé,his coworkers,. Heaven obviously called him home. I have no doubt he is chatting with heavens finest. Rusty you left before I coud get things done for one final purchase. One of those awesome vets to call my own.
In the next life, look for us, we have to get caught up. And laugh like nobody is watching.
Love to you, your family and all who love you. We will definitely be remembered and missed!
I first met Rusty in junior high school. He had a wonderful, outgoing personality and was friends with everyone. Classmates naturally gravitated to Rusty because he was so likable. Rusty’s family made a huge contribution to Huntersville and the surrounding communities through their business and good deeds. Prayers and comfort to his mother, his brother Tommy and the entire Cross family. Carl Robbins
Always joked about who had more history England or USA rip rusty
My sympathy, thoughts and prayers go out to your family. I am a loyal customer of Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet dealership in Newton. Rusty helped me purchase my Chevrolet Cruse sedan 13-14 yrs. ago and when I needed to trade it in 2019, he came to the rescue again for me to purchase my 2019 Chevrolet Trax SUV. He was so helpful, polite and courteous, he was like a friend to to all! He made me feel like my car purchase was the only one for the day and every time I was having service, he made a point to say "hello"! One of a kind for sure, he was my go-to salesman and sent many friends and family to him for vehicle sales! There are not enough words to describe Rusty! Such a huge loss for everyone who met Rusty.
Angel and Family, My deepest condolences to you all. Rusty was a wonderful person and a fantastic neighbor. I am grateful to know him. He is loved and will be missed very much.
Sending Love, Peace and Prayers,

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Rusty. My heart goes out to his family at this time of sorrow. I have known Rusty since 1969 when I moved into the area. Over the years, my family, husband and two sons, have bought many cars from the Cross Dealership. Rusty and I shared the same birthday, January 19th, although several years apart. We always acknowledged that day and sent each other a Happy Birthday Wish! I will miss that birthday wish from him every year! RIP Rusty! You will be missed!
