Dwight "Rusty" Shaw Cross III's Obituary
Dwight Shaw “Rusty” Cross, III, of Huntersville died April 17, 2023. He was born on January 19, 1957 in Mecklenburg County to Jeannette Cross and the late Dwight Shaw Cross, Jr. Rusty was a 1975 graduate of North Mecklenburg High School and 1980 graduate of Appalachian State University. He followed in the family business as a Chevrolet salesman with Cross Chevrolet and retired from Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his fiancé, Angel Todd; son Dwight “Shaw” Cross, IV; daughter, Elizabeth “Allie” Rector and husband Charles and their daughter, Lillian; his brother, Tommy Cross and niece Evan Cross.
Memorials may be made to Huntersville Presbyterian Church.
The funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday, April 23 at Huntersville Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be in the family life center from 2:30-3:30 prior. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
