This is a voice from the past. Eddie's sister (Cindy) and I were good friends in elem. school. I was reading about a friend's death and happened to see Eddie's name. I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my husband 2.5 yrs ago. it's so hard. will be thinking of you and praying for you
Warrent Officer Walkup (Ed) was a true mentor to our Naval Reserve Unit in Charlotte. He spent many hours giving guidance and knowledge to our junior personnel through his wisdom and experience. Ed was a true friend to the Reservist in our Unit. I am a better Sailor due to Warrent Officer Walkup. Fair Winds and Following Seas.

Sorry to here of Eds passing, he was one of the last old school compressor men.
Had so many dealings with him on job sites , to many to remember all.
He could allways find a way to keep customer happy when things did not go as planned.
Will miss our trips to eastern North Carolina looking for work, he new every back road and what was in peoples back yard or barn.
He was the only person i knew who had a pot belly pig for a pet.
A freind like ed is rare to find.
We will miss him.
