Ed was LCOM for the decennial census where I was employed 2010. He made available time to talk to me at a time when I needed it about my family and offered helpful counsel with the reminder that Christ is head of the marriage / family unit. He was a superior manager in person and remote as well as excellent example of professional business ethics during the census campaign. And always happy and smiling when it came to his wife Sybil whom he’d speak of by name. The two of them are unforgettable.

Ed and Sybil were a big part of our lives when we lived in Mooresville NC. Such good friends.

I was a hair stylist and Ed loved my haircuts. I saw him every month for years. He always had a smile on his face and was full of life.

Charlie and Ed loved playing golf together and when they visited Florida even I would play with them including Sybil.

Ed became my financial guy when he started working for Edward Jones. He was a good trusted friend.❤️

Charlie and I truly miss him.

Rena and I enjoyed 32 years of true friendship and fun with Ed and Syb. We met Ed at a golf outing in Stamford, CT, and quickly became great friends and had great times together. They "stood up for us" when we renewed our wedding vows in 1994.

Somehow, life intervened and we lost touch with Ed and Syb when we moved to North Carolina. What we didn't realize was that Ed and Syb had followed us to North Carolina not long after. After years of each of us searching, Ed finally figured it out and the reunion was epic.

We were blessed to have Ed in our lives for all the years we did and sincerely wish it could have gone on for decades longer. He fought a good fight and we were privileged to be there with him for a small part of it. We will miss his friendship, his humor and his goofy grin for the rest of our lives. We are sad to be stuck out in Arizona and unable to attend Ed's celebration; but, Syb, we'll see you when we get back.

We were deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Ed.
Ed was the first person we met in the neighborhood. We were viewing our property for the first time. Ed was leaving his driveway. He saw us walking on the property. Ed headed back, got out of the car, walked over to us like he has known us all his life. He was a fountain of information, much appreciated information about the property and the past owners etc. Ed never met a stranger! We miss his smile and his presence. We feel privileged to have had Ed as a friend and a neighbor, even for a short time.

I met Ed at the Edward Jones office in Denver. I went to see him to help me with my retirement planning and I got so much more! He asked the right questions and I when I asked him for some financial advice outside of investing, he was so helpful. I will always appreciate his kindness and how he shared his vast knowledge with me and I'm sure other clients as well. He was one of a kind and he is missed.

I am a younger cousin of Eddie (as I always called him, instead of Ed) and we both grew up in Beckley, WV. Like a lot of other people have commented on here, the one thing I remember most about him was he always had a smile on his face. He was such a positive person with a quick witted humor. If you were feeling down, his presence could lift you up. Also, I never heard him say anything bad about anybody.
Unfortunately, after we both moved out of state we didn't see each other hardly any at all afterwards. The last time I saw him was at his mother's funeral in 2017. The time before that was in 2009 after my son graduated from Marine Corp boot camp and we visited, him, his mom, and Sybil on our way back to Maryland. I remember they took us out on Lake Norman on his pontoon boat and even let my son drive it for a little while.
May you rest in peace, cousin. I'm sure your infectious smile and sense of humor has brightened heaven just a little bit more.
