Edgar Burleson's Obituary
Edgar L Burleson, 71, of Sherrills Ford, NC passed away peacefully on May 2, 2020. He was born on July 1, 1948 in Eccles, WV to the late Marie Burleson Vandall and Paul Burleson.
For the last several years of his career, Ed served as a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones Investments in Denver, NC. Those who know him will agree that Ed “never met a stranger”. He treasured the personal and professional friendships and relationships he developed with his quick wit and sense of humor, engaging smile, and his innate interest in people he knew and those he met. He enjoyed golfing, boating, traveling, and was always willing to take on a challenge to a game of horseshoes.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Sybil Melton; his daughter, Christina Lee Eicher, husband, John, and two granddaughters and a grandson; his son, Todd Robert Burleson, wife, Jessica, and four grandsons; his step-granddaughter, Haley Hendrix and three great grandchildren; his son, Scot Andrew Burleson; his stepmother, Ruby Burleson; his brother, Benny Burleson, wife, Marti, and nieces, Missy and Mandy; his brother, Timmy Burleson, wife, Tammy, and nephew, Aaron, wife, Marci; his sister-in-law, Dinah Burleson, wife of his late brother Robert Burleson; and his aunts, Charlotte Roop and Fonda Hedgecock.
A celebration of life will be held on his birthday, Thursday, July 1, 2021, 2:00 PM, at James Funeral Home. There will also be a reception afterwards serving cupcakes in honor of Edgar's birthday at the Funeral Home.
