Ellen Stewart Hazelton, 93, of Davidson, NC died July 19, 2011 at the Levine Dickson Hospice House. She was born on March 8, 1918 in St. Louis, MO to the late Elvin Stewart and Bertha Wood. Ellen worked as a Real Estate Broker in Read Obituary
I am so sorry for your loss. During these times of sadness I find that the bible gives us hope and can be comforting to us. At Isaiah 26:19, Jehovah God promises us that "Your dead ones will live.....They will rise up." And the bible also says at Psalm 37:29, "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it." I hope these scriptures bring you comfort.

Dear Betsy, Todd, Andy, Phillip,Judd and Chris,
It was our pleasure to have known and visited with Ellen Hazelton, better known to her grandchildren and great grandchildren as Grandma Hazelton and GGMa. Shortly after our daughter Amy and Todd were married, we made a trip to the Cape with them to visit Ellen she was a gracious host and lovely person and will be dearly missed. We extend our deepest sympathy to the family and will keep you in our prayers and thoughts. Please know her memory will live on.

Tracey as I know her was always the epitemy of beauty and grace, From the day I met her in Carlisle Ma(around 1985). till the day I saw her last in Davidson N.C.(around 2010) she always had the same smile, outlook and pleasure of ones company.We spent many a holiday together with all our Carlisle familys and friends, she always was dressed to perfection and even she and my Mom hit it off, although very different types, but from a generation that stood strong regardless of there situations, Tracy was our wax club president I think, we all loved her and always will ,

Ellen was and will continue to be an extraordinary woman with great
courage, curiosity, intellect, will, and someone who would not abide idiots.
She knew what she wanted and she worked for it. This has given me
great courage, knowing her. And specifically, I always shared with
her the love of lipstick. And the need to always present herself in
gorgeous clothes..
For her, it was"glamorous", always, and it defined her courage.
No matter what, she presented herself to the world as the woman she
was - proud and defiant against indignities and tragedies, and I thank
her for showing the way.

Dear Betsy, Chris, Kristin, Jud, Andrew, Todd, and Phillip,
I knew Ellen since I was a child. She was with my mother at the hospital when I was born. We lived for a time at Avoica Farm. Ellen was a second mother who elegantly transformed into a concerned aunt and finally became a beloved friend. She was a magnificent woman who managed to rise above tragedy. I will cherish her courage, her humor, and her kindness.
