What a privilege it is to have known someone that has lived into the 100s, and yet, it feels like it was not long enough. Mr. Deaton used his life for the benefit of others. One scripture that comes to mind when I think of Mr. Deaton is Proverbs 16: 31 which says, "Gray-headedness is a crown of beauty when it is found in the way of righteousness." To lose such a self sacrificing person adds salt to the wound. However, there is a beautiful scripture of comfort in Job 14:14, 15 where Job is asking God, "if a man dies, will he live again". Then he reassures himself 'You will call and I will answer' and then says that 'God will have a yearning for the work of his hands.' Mr. Deaton is most definitely a work of God's hands and how wonderful it will be to see him again. My love and condolences.
