Harold Jeffrey Reid's Obituary
Harold Jeffrey Reid (Jeff), 66, of Huntersville, died on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. He was born on March 15, 1955, in Iredell County, NC to the late Harold Taylor and Marcelle Bolick Reid.
Jeff was a retired Charlotte Firefighter. He was a long time resident of Long Creek community, working at Puckett's Grocery and Fuel until joining the Fire Department. He was also a volunteer fireman with Huntersville at Gilead station 2. After retirement Jeff spent most of his waking hours working in his wood shop, gardening and taking care of his yard. His greatest joy in life were his family and being papa to his boys Hayden and Hunter.
Jeff was a big advocate of Be The Match bone marrow registry after receiving a transplant from his donor Brian. Jeff never met a stranger. He had a heart of gold and was always there to lend a helping hand in the community, neighborhood and church.
He was a long time member of Long Creek and Lake Norman Baptist Church and was a current member of Neighborhood church.
In addition to his parents, Jeff is preceded in death by his grandson, Hudson.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 44 years, Vickie; son, Nick Reid; daughter, Bethany Welch (Jamie); grandchildren, Hayden and Hunter; sister, Alicia Brouillette (Tim); and brothers, Brent Reid (Jo) and Craig Reid (Wendy). Jeff was also loved by many, including his mother in law, sisters and brother in law's, niece and nephews and great nieces and nephew and his beloved Fire Department family.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 25, 1:00 PM, at Lake Norman Baptist Church in Huntersville with the interment to follow at Mt. Zion Community Cemetery in Cornelius. There will be a two hour visitation and reception prior to the service from 11:00-1:00 PM in the Family Life Center at Lake Norman Baptist Church which will include Jeff's favorite desserts.
The family would like to thank Duke Medical, UNC Chapel Hill Medical, Lake Norman Oncology and Atrium Hospital for their care and love over the years.
