Harold Teague's Obituary
Harold David Teague, 81, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2019 in Monroe NC, where he was a resident. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Carolyn Bailey Teague, with whom he shared 60 wonderful years of marriage and was a member of Independence Hill Baptist Church in Huntersville NC.
Born in Union, SC on March 22, 1938, he was the son of David and Lottie Teague and a proud veteran of the National Guard Reserves. Always keeping busy, he held many titles in life, among them Sunday School Teacher, Junior Achievement Advisor and PTA President. He cherished his 35 year career with the Charlotte Observer, where he was a National Advertising Salesman, and was awarded Salesman of the Year many times. A title he held dear to his heart was that of Deacon and Founding Member of East Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC, where he spent many hours with his family serving the Lord, but his most important title was that of husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He will be remembered by his family for his amazing green thumb that produced beautiful roses, azaleas, peppers, and tomatoes, sometimes out of a single root that most of us would have thrown away. His quick wit and laughter will never be forgotten, along with his loving arms that held us when we needed him most. He was most proud of his family and especially enjoyed the holidays when everyone was gathered round.
In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, he is survived by his three daughters, Cynthia Teague Wagner (Wesley), Sheryl Teague Pierce (Joel), and Lisa Teague Rider (Bill), his grandchildren, Cameron Wagner (Amy), Cody Wagner (Shannon), Austin Pierce (Leslie), Kendall Pierce, Harrison Pierce, Jack Rider, and Ashlyn Rider and his great grandchildren, Natalie Wagner and Jane Wagner. Mr. Teague is survived by two brothers, Ray Teague (Margaret) and Clyde Teague, as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by several siblings.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 20 at 12:00 PM at Independence Hill Baptist Church (Chapel), 10220 Independence Hill Road, Huntersville NC with internment at the church cemetery. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
The family would like to thank the incredible staff of Brookdale Union Park for their love and care during his residency and sickness, as well as Hospice, who are Angels on Earth and provided everyone with knowledge, understanding and amazing compassion during such a difficult time.
James Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family.
