Harry Miles Smith, 95, of Huntersville, NC., died February 9, 2015 at the Serenity House, Huntersville, NC. He was born on May 1, 1919 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Francis and Mary Smith. He served in the US Marines and worked as Read Obituary
Met Harry in 2001 when we moved across the street from him. He was a man I admired dearly,he was always very kind to my wife Wanda,myself and our dog whom he loved Snowflake. I tried to visit every time I was in area. He could recognize my voice no matter how I tried to disquise it on the telephone have already missed him but will miss him more now. I loved Harry, goodbye my great friend.
We have lost a local treasure with the passing of the Mayor of Cedarfield, Harry Smith. Linda will miss his company, I will miss his sarcastic wit, and Jessie will miss his dog treats. You can call Harry many things -- Mayor, marine, master craftsman, artist, that nice old man on the corner, Dad, Grandpa, or dear friend. All of us will miss this talented and fun-loving man.
Our deepest sympathies go out to Rich, Susan, your children, and your grandchildren. How fortunate you are to have someone that makes saying "Goodbye" so hard.
Harry, the Irish would add, "May the Good Lord level the road for your soul, and grant you a generous share of eternity." Until we meet again, dear friend.
Mr. Harry was a wonderful person and an important part of my childhood. He sure loved us neighborhood kids and our pets :) Between his wood work (I still have) and the memories he will never be forgotten. I was driving to town Thursday and was going to stop and see him and will always be sad I didn't get there in time. His smile and generosity will never be forgotten. Thoughts and prayers are with the family.
Mr. Harry was such a wonderful man and a big piece of my childhood. Mr. Harry definitely loved us neighborhood kids and our pets :) He will be greatly missed. I was going to the Serenity House this Thursday to try and see him when I was in town. I will always be sad I didn't make it in time. His smile and kindness will always be remembered.

wonderful man, who I'm sure delighted in his grandchildren and great great
