Brian White and I were fortunate enough to get to know Helen when we visited his mom at Ranson Ridge while she was there over the last 6 months. Helen loved to sit in the entrance hall area seeing people especially right after dinner time. She remembered my name right away and finally remembered Brian’s. She had such a great personality and shared stories about her late husband, and her daughter, Helen, her grandchildren and great-grandson. I told her all about my children, grandchildren, & great-grandkids. I shared pictures and saw all her pictures in her room of her beautiful family. When Brian went to visit his mom during the week, when he got there, he’d call and let me know Helen wanted to say hi. When we were there and Helen was out in the hallway, I always spent some time talking to her. When Brian’s mom passed away in early May, Helen was afraid she’d stop seeing us. But we promised her (and several others) that we’d still stop by as often as we could to see them. We saw her the Sunday right before she ended up in the hospital last week. She was in her room and I shared our news with her that Brian and I had gotten engaged after many years together. She was so happy. We met her daughter and 2 of her grandchildren and her daughter called Brian on Monday evening to let us know Helen had peacefully moved on to her next adventure. I’m sure it’s a good one.
I’m so glad we got to know this lovely lady, even if just for a short time. She touched our lives. Helen was a very special lady and we will never forget her. RIP my friend. You will be missed.

It was such a pleasure meeting Helen, saying hello everyday, and spending a few minutes with her each time I visited my mom. A "fellow Yankee"!
She was always so pleasant, and positive, and thankful for her caring daughter and family. She focused on strengths, and finding joy, rather than dwelling on limitations. And she was so proud to have met her great granddaughter.
A lovely woman who will be missed.
My sincere condolences to her daughter Helen and her family.

When we were small kids we visited Sito and Gido Haddad in New Jersey. It was my mother Mary, my sister Joanne and myself. One morning Aunt Helen and Uncle Joe surprised us and took just us two kids to a park called Freedomland (As I recall) and we had a magical day of fun on rides and attractions. I had my first corned beef sandwich for lunch, which is still a favorite. It was so sweet and generous of them to make time for us two. We never forgot that special day, and the two sweet people who made it happen.
God bless and keep you, Aunt Helen
