Jack Edward Mayes, 82 of Charlotte, died August 6, 2014. He was born on September 30, 1931 in Mecklenburg County to the late Lamont and Myrtle Johnston Mayes. Survivors include his wife Carol Amelia Young Mayes; daughter, Dawn Ma Read Obituary
Jack has been my personal closest friend since 2003 and he did not stop to communicate to me through writing letters. Carol I just extend my deepest sympathy to you and encouraging you that soon we will all meet him at the blossom of our father of faith Abraham one these days. Jonathan and Dawn take courage though this may be great loss but I know that Jack is in the glory. May his soul rest in peace.

I never got to meet Mr. Mayes, my son is a friend of Jonathan and he spoke very highly of him. I send my prayers to Jonathan and family.
I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Mayes but heard many great thing about him from his daughter Dawn and I send my thoughts and prayers to the entire family and friends - May God Bless you all
