Family of Jackie, I met Jackie at Anytime Fitness, Huntersville, NC, some years ago. She always had a smile and positive spirit and attitude. While she exercised in our class, her husband, Roberto, took on the machines. When I read the obituary, I learned so much about her and Roberto. I’m always interested in meeting new people and especially anyone from Puerto Rico because my husband and two children enjoyed living in San Juan in the late 70s and early 80s. I remember on my trip to Costa Rica back in 92. The youth had partied a little too much at Robert‘s graduation the night before and I had slept in that particular day. I ended up waking up in the late afternoon and Tia was busy making cascos de guayaba over her stove.
I think she knew what was up, but never made me feel bad about it.
I just remember her saying a funny comment referring to “she thought I was never gonna wake up”
She explained to me how she made the delicious dessert and then we had an afternoon meal out in the terrace.
One thing I do know for a fact, boy did she love her”Rober.” and once he got married and had children, they loved all of that. I know Alzheimer’s is a very hard disease to deal with for the individual and for the family. I know she’s definitely resting now . My thoughts are with all the family members.
