To the Elliott family, please know that I extend my deepest sympathies and share in your grief and loss. I cannot begin to express how honored I was to count both Jackie and Bob as my friends and blessed to be included in some of the family gatherings and celebrations over the years. I was truly impressed at the milestone of their 73-year wedding anniversary and inspired by their love, caring and lifelong commitment to each other. I thoroughly enjoyed joining the family in the celebration for Jackie’s 94th birthday back in November and can still visualize her enthusiasm as she blew out the candles on the cake. I always looked forward to seeing them Sunday mornings and took comfort in knowing they would be sitting right behind me at the early church service, and we would get a chance to chat. Jackie had a long, amazing life this side of heaven and I will absolutely miss her presence as my journey continues forward for now. I can’t help but imagine the wonderful reunion she had with Bob as they reunited once again after these many months apart. Well done, good and faithful servant. -Matthew 25:23
I wish you all happy memories to hold on to with a sense of peace, courage and comfort as you take the challenging steps forward and transition through your loss. The following words provided insight and wisdom to me at the time my mother passed away and I hope they also provide you with strength and meaning.
That though the radiance which was once so bright be now forever taken from my sight. Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass, glory in the flower. We will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind. William Wordsworth
