James “Jim” Howard Townsend, 79, of Cornelius, NC passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC. He was born on November 4, 1937 in Mecklenburg County and was the son of the late Read Obituary
Mr. Townsend was a wonderful neighbor and we always enjoyed chatting with him in the yard. We will miss his friendly waves and smiling face. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

We will always remember Mr. Townsend's smiling face and kindness. He often shared the harvests of his garden by bringing them to neighbors in his wagon. He was caring towards our children, often joking with them as well as asking about their school work and interests. His gentle voice and thoughtfulness will always remain in our memories. We miss him.
