James M. Singer, (Jim) 83, of Cornelius, NC, died October 25, 2021. He was born on December 8, 1937 in Ebensburg, PA to the late James M and Margaret W Singer. Survivors include his wife Loretta; son, Jim and wife Vanessa Singer, Read Obituary
So sad to hear Jim passed away, and my sincere condolences to his family and family of musicians. I played along side Jim in the Lake Norman Orchestra, and he was a very talented musician- but what stood out most of all was his graciousness, and his kind spirit. Jim was my brother's roommate at I.U.P. and I got to meet Jim and Loretta here in Erie, PA. I have exchanged Christmas cards with them over the years especially because my name happens to be "Loretta." Lots of memories and news shared over the years. My note from Loretta telling of Jim's death was a shock. They were "special" and it is my hope that we can stay in touch. Blow, Jim, Blow in Heaven now! May he rest in peace.

Jim was such a talented musician and humble spirit. I thoroughly enjoyed knowing him and making music with him over the past 10 years. He will be missed terribly from all those associated with the Charlotte Concert Band and Charlotte Jazz Band. Here is a short video from a solo he played with our jazz group just before he passed on Sunday, October 24. Our prayers are with Loretta and the family.
We will never forget what a wonderfully talented and dedicated musician was, nor will we ever forget our fond memories of traveling with them and the Lake Norman Orchestra to Europe for a concert tour. We treasure those memories and will miss him very much.

Jim was always willing to play in any ensemble where needed. A true stalwart, after medical events he would be back and playing long before most of us could believe. I am grateful to have known and been associated with him. I, we, will miss him a lot.
