James Singer's Obituary
James M. Singer, (Jim) 83, of Cornelius, NC, died October 25, 2021. He was born on December 8, 1937 in Ebensburg, PA to the late James M and Margaret W Singer.
Survivors include his wife Loretta; son, Jim and wife Vanessa Singer, daughter, Teresa Wrench and grandchildren, Austin, Ashley, and Alex Wrench all of Lake Norman.
After graduating Ebensburg High School in 1955, he studied music at Indiana state Teachers college in Indiana, PA.
He enjoyed his career as a merchandise buyer. He retired from Family Dollar Stores in Matthews, NC in 1998.
Following his retirement, he immersed himself in his love for music playing trumpet in The Charlotte Concert Band, the Charlotte Jazz band, The Lake Norman Big Band, the Stumptown Express and background music for a number of other venues. Most Saturdays he could be found at Richard's Coffee Shop in Mooresville playing bluegrass on his fiddle.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, October 28 at James Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC with visitation to follow.
