Janice Ruth Salisbury's Obituary
Janice Ruth Salisbury, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on February 18, 1952, at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix, Arizona, Janice brought warmth and light to all who knew her throughout her extraordinary life, especially to her parents, Don and Bernice, as well as brothers Scott and Donny.
Janice’s greatest joys were her family and faith. She is survived by her loving children Scott and Jennifer; her daughter-in-law, D; her son-in-law, Travis; and her cherished grandchildren, Joshua, Nolan, Asa, Kellen, and Sawyer.
Janice was a born again Christian who, when she did find Christ, dedicated her life to live each day with her faith first. It is this faith which guided her through the remainder of her life and prepared her for this day without fear. Her life was a testament to her compassion and generosity, as she consistently extended her kindness to those she saw in need.
Janice enjoyed a successful career in banking as a loan officer, where her integrity, professionalism, and talent made her beloved by colleagues and clients alike. In spite of her success, she gave her career up to embark on her most fulfilling role—devoting her time to raising her children and grandchildren, fostering a legacy of love and care that will endure.
Janice’s passions included family gatherings, horseback riding, get-togethers with "The Seasons" and the joy of cultivating meaningful relationships. She leaves behind a community of friends and loved ones who will forever remember her kindness, generosity and ever-positive spirit. Janice lived a life full of love, faith, and joy, and her memory will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 18 2025 at James Funeral Home in Huntersville, North Carolina. A celebration of Janice's life will be held between 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the home of Scott and D Dutton in Cornelius, North Carolina. Light refreshments will be provided.
Flowers are appreciated and /or donations may be made to Samaritan's purse, directed toward the rebuilding efforts in western North Carolina following Hurricane Helene. Janice donated her time and resources to this effort shortly before her diagnosis and would be honored to see the work continue in her name. https://www.samaritanspurse.org/memorial-page/janice-salisbury-morganton-nc/
