Janie Brown Turner, 84, of Charlotte went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, March 28, 2025. She passed as she lived, peacefully and surrounded by her loving family. Janie was born on July 11, 1940, in Sanford Read Obituary
Momma had 3 daughters and we are so different. She showed us that those differences are important for loving each other and loving our own children the way a Mom does. When one is struggling there is always a strong one to call on the tribe to make the circle. To protect, to support and to pour out a covering of love. She knew that we needed each other to hold onto because times will be tuff. She was practical and wise, she was the Matriarch. Her legacy continues, a legacy of love and respect. We will never fail her. We are "hardheaded" and we don't give up on each other. I love my sister's so much. She gave us all the best parts of her but I think she gave me more. I'm the middle child with both hands being held. I will continue to make you laugh Momma. Thanks for letting me be me! I miss you deeply❤️❤️❤️

I have so many fond memories of my sister but the one thing I always think of is how Janie took care of me through the years. I would spend many weeks in Merritt Island with her family. I remember so many times going to Cocoa beach or Cape Canaveral beach. Janie would pack us all up and we would spend hours on the beach sitting on blankets eating our pimento cheese sandwiches. One time we all got sunburned and of course, Janie would take care of us. We would also go to Disney World and have a blast. During one trip to Miami, we went to a snake farm. The girls loved it, but it creeped me out! I remember when I had heart surgery in Gainesville, Janie came to take care of me. She made sure I was comfortable, gave me a bed bath, and simply loved on me. Those were great years full of love and laughter! I will truly miss her.
I remember when mom came to visit me in NY during Easter. Erin was about 2 years old. We went to an Easter egg hunt at the golf club. It was freezing cold but mom was bound to watch Erin find eggs. Later, we went home to dye eggs around the table. Mom patiently showed Erin how to dip the eggs to make them colorful. Mom, you were always there for the important moments! Thank you for teaching me how to be a mom and how to love unconditionally!
I will miss you Aunt Janie
I vividly recall a phone call with you when Danny and I decided to get married. You expressed your concerns, but what we really needed we got, your support. I'm sure now being a mom that must have been hard for you. You saw so much of what could come. But you kept quiet to me and I'm sure you talked to the Lord and Dad instead. I believe this is one of the reasons our marriage has lasted. You knew when to talk and when to listen and I'm thankful for your examples of unconditional love! Your daughter, Kathy
