Joanne Marie Salzmann's Obituary
Joanne Marie Salzmann 74 of Washingtonville N.Y./Huntersville N.C. passed
away Wednesday Feb. 1. She was born on April 18 1948 on Long Island N.Y to
the late James and Julia Tramuta.
Joanne spent 33 years teaching Pre-K students at St.Paul's, Lutheran Church
of which she was also a congregant. Her credo was "Teachers who love
teaching, teach children to love learning". She was all of that.
Besides teaching her main passion in life was has been to care for our
disabled son since his accident 26 + years ago. Of the many thought's sent to
Joanne in her illness this one says it best 'Dear Mrs. Salzmann You are so loved
by so many. We are better people because of you. Thank you for guiding Jack
through his early childhood and beyond. You are loved. Sending you our love,
light, and Prayers. love xxxxx. Through the years Joanne has received so many
(too many to count) thank you's from not only parents but the students who are
now adults apprising Joanne of their progress in life.
She was not very athletic but we played tennis as a family on our backyard
dirt court when our son was growing up and Joanne became pretty darn
good. Joanne was most proud of a medal she won in grammar school, it was the
slow bike race. That tells you who Joanne was. Always worried about everybody
else except herself. I will miss her dearly.
Joanne is survived by her husband Fred of 53 years, son Eric, brother
Anthony, nephew Anthony, niece's Gina and Nicole.
The funeral service will be held March 4th at 11.00 A.M.at St.Paul's Lutheran Church in Monroe N,Y. (it will also be streamed and available on you tube).
In lieu of flowers, donation's may be made to Hind's Feet Farm ( a brain injury facility where our son resides) P.O. box 2842, Huntersville N.C. 28078
