John Beard's Obituary
John Francis Mills Beard, 88, of Stanley, NC died December 17, 2020. He was born on August 15, 1932 in Mecklenburg County to the late Robert and Myrtle Beard. He served in the US Army. He was currently a member of Westport Baptist Church in Denver, but was a longtime member of Sunset Road Baptist Church in Charlotte.
Survivors include his wife Marie Beard; sons, Richard Beard, Ray Whitaker, Jr., Bruce Whitaker, and Glen Whitaker; grandchildren, Clay and Eli and great-grandchild, Rylee. He is preceded in death by his son Bryan.
Memorials may be made to Westport Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Monday, December 21 at Westport Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Owenby officiating. Viewing will be 10-11 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Northlake Memorial Gardens.
