Johnny Lee Hoke's Obituary
Mr. Johnny Lee Hoke, 56, of Davidson, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, June 12, 2025.
He was born August 6, 1968, to Johnny and Gail Hoke in Mooresville, NC. Lee was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church and was a faithful servant of the Lord. After graduation from North Mecklenburg High School, Lee attended the University of North Carolina-Wilmington graduating with a bachelor's degree in accounting.
Lee was a dedicated, loving father, grandfather, son, brother and friend to all who brought so much joy and laughter to our lives. He loved the outdoors, fishing, and watching all UNC sports. Lee and his father owned and operated Hoke Plumbing Company known for professional and quality service.
He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Hoke of Wade, NC; grandsons, Sterling and Luka; his father, Johnny W. Hoke (Sondra) of Mooresville, NC; mother, Gail B. Cantrell (Doug) of Davidson, NC; sister, Angela G. Hoke of Davidson, NC; step-sister, Leslie Gerwitz (Karl) of Mooresville, NC; step-brothers, Thomas Cantrell of Phoenix, AZ and Todd Cantrell of Browns Mills, NJ; nephew, Austin Lewis of Danville, VA and niece, Whitney Lewis of Charlotte, NC; step-nephews, Carter Gerwitz of Raleigh, NC, Harris Gerwitz of Wilmington, NC and Caden and Ethan Cantrell of Phoenix, AZ.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 20 at Hopewell Baptist Church, 18841 Davidson-Concord Rd, Davidson, NC 28036. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday at James Funeral Home of Huntersville.
