In Loving Memory of Joey
Joey came into our lives by chance, but once he was with us, he felt like he’d always belonged. What started as a friendship with my son quietly grew into something deeper. Joey became part of our rhythm—present at family dinners, holidays, beach trips, and all the small, everyday moments that make a home feel full.
He had a gift for making the ordinary feel meaningful. Whether we were gathered around the table or walking along the shore, Joey brought light, curiosity, and a quiet steadiness that made our space warmer. To my children, he was a pseudo-sibling. To me, he was a son in spirit. He didn’t ask for much, but he gave so much—his presence, his insight, his loyalty.
There were times when Joey was simply with us, fully, quietly, and consistently. He trusted us, and we loved him. That kind of bond doesn’t need explanation, and it doesn’t fade.
We miss him deeply. But we carry him forward—in the memories he helped shape, the love he gave so freely, and the space he’ll always hold in our hearts.
Rest in peace, Joey.
May your family be surrounded by comfort, strength, and the quiet grace of healing. My prayers are with them always.
Love you always,
Devon
