Joseph Daniel Doerflinger's Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved son, Joseph Doerflinger, who was ripped from us far too soon on June 1, 2025 at the age of 21. Joseph was born to Daniel and Erin Doerflinger on March 8, 2004.
Joseph will be remembered as someone who loved nature, one of his favorite activities being fishing with his family and friends. Joseph was also an avid photographer, and his photographs will remain as treasured mementos of his time with us. He could talk for hours about the intricacies of coffee roasting, and found fulfillment in his work and forging his own path in life.
In addition to his parents, Joseph is survived by his brothers, Nicholas Doerflinger (Mazzi) and Eli Doerflinger, along with grandparents, Chad Martin and Pam Gentry-Martin, and Kimberly Robinson (John). Joseph had a special bond with his cousin, Jett McNeill, who was like a brother to him as well. He leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends and mentors who loved and cared for him deeply.
Joseph, your beautiful smile, loving heart, and distinctive laugh will live on through us. We love you so very much.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, June 7, at Mecklenburg Community Church, 8335 Browne Rd, Charlotte, NC 28269. Visitation with the family will follow. A private graveside service will be held Monday, June 9, for family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Moms Demand Action or the NC Wildlife Federation.
“We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
Who with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified.
Who has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.”
