Joyce Hamilton's Obituary
Mrs. Joyce Hamilton, 74, of Denver NC, passed away Friday, January 9, 2026.
Joyce was a native of Cleveland, Ohio and moved to North Carolina in the 1970’s. She was a founding member of the Charlotte Hornets Beepball Team (softball for the blind). She owned and operated her own bakery, Sinfully Sweet, in Charlotte NC for over two decades. She was retired for the last several years. She still enjoyed baking cookies and sweets (especially with her grandkids), playing cards with her Trilogy friends, traveling with family and regular visits to Ocean Isle Beach to spend time with friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Max Hamilton and her parents, Joe & Olga Zelei.
Joyce is survived by her son, Christopher (Burke) Johnson (Dana) of Catawba, NC, grandchildren Alexandria (Andi) & Zachary (Zach). Her brother William (Bill), brother Timothy (Tim) and sister Katherine (Kat) and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.
Memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, January 24 at James Funeral Home of Huntersville, NC. The family will receive friends preceding the memorial service at 3pm at the funeral home. The Memorial service will be live streamed and can be viewed at https://jamesfuneralhomelkn.com
