It's so hard to pin a specific memory to the bundle of joy I call aunt Kristin. Being such a big part of my life ever since I was born. I have so so many loving memories, that I will forever cherish. The times that have been on my mind the most lately are those I spent living with her. I was trying to find a comfortable and affordable living situation when she invited me into her home. No obligation or force of reason, just open arms. I always assumed because of the wild adventures she had experienced she wanted to make sure I was in a comfortable environment. But really that's who she'd always been. I love my aunt Kristin, so very much. I miss reading with you on our couch, spontaneously going to safari miles, and of course dreading our Mondays. I can only imagine the adventure you're on now. I'll see you soon.
I will never forget driving around, looking for you outside a hotel in San Jose, Costa Rica. We had had just flown in that morning and picked up our rental car with Julie. Bonnie and Rob were already on their way to the BnB in the mountains, and Bonnie asked us to grab you. The Google Map was super confusing, and the hotel didn’t have many entrances. So we drove in a circle a few times, but then there you were, walking down the street, completely gorgeous. I will miss your smile, your voice, and your laugh. Maybe even your snore. Lol! O dear girl. You are all of my first memories. Walking back and forth between houses sharing a coat, 10000s of sleepovers, even when we moved to bountiful the hours of car rides to see each other on weekends. The time spent at your grandparents, your house my house and every where in between. I'm so proud of the life you lived and the memories I have. I will never forget you and you will always be in my heart. I love you thank you for being a friend for 35 years.
Kristen I remember you as a young pre-teen, running in the yard, playing with horses in your Petersboro, UT acreage, feeding the rabbits in N. Logan, loving the outdoors and mountain hikes—exploring nature. You were a loving, kind, intelligent, intuitive child. Thank you for loving us, caring about us, and giving such a great example of Christ-like love to all. We love you, Irene Koerner Phaup and family.
