Lawrence LaFlamme's Obituary
Lawrence A. LaFlamme of Huntersville, NC went home to be with the Lord on July 31, 2024 at the age of 71.
Larry was born on October 30, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan where he lived until moving to Charlotte, NC in 1969. He married the love of his life and soul mate, Pam, on October 19, 1974 and they shared 49 beautiful years together.
An avid outdoorsman, Larry was happiest camping at the beach, lake, or anywhere he could swim and fish. When indoors, he could be found playing cards, watching sports (especially the Panthers or racing), or working with his hands. He was also a talented cook, and his contributions to family gatherings and holidays always inspired fierce competition over custody of the leftovers. Larry was a gentle giant with a heart of gold and had the most genuine, room-filling belly laugh which he deployed easily and often.
Larry will be remembered for his warmth, his compassion, and his incredible strength of character. He will be missed, but the love and care he poured into his family and friends will remain as a testament to his life.
Larry is survived by his wife, Pam LaFlamme; his sister, Kathy Usher (Gary); his sister-in-law Tina Nelson; and his bother-in-law Barry Fisher (Mary). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Kelly Estes, Madelyn Usher, and Ryan Nelson.
He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Janet LaFlamme; and his sister, Mary L. Fisher.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, 1:00 PM at James Funeral Home in Huntersville.
