Gene, so sad to learn of your mom’s passing. She was a long time family friend and my sister Juanita was a flower girl in her wedding! I owe my secretarial career to Lilyan as she let me pretend to be a secretary when I would visit at the Cornelius REA. I still have pictures of the Cornelius REA crew! I always enjoyed seeing her when we both managed to be at the same DAR meeting. She always had a pretty and giving smile.

We are so sorry to hear of Lilyan's passing. Our hearts go out to Gene, Wes, Miriam, Jane and all the family. Lilyan was always a lovely, gracious southern lady . It was special knowing her over the years at Mt. Zion UMC. and in the years since she became homebound. She will be missed by all. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
In Sympathy,
Bob and Phyllis Deaton
Lilyan was one of the first people who made me feel Mt. Zion was my “home” church. She has been in my thoughts and prayers through the years, and the honor of being with her in Disciples Class will be a memory I will always treasure. The family will be held in thought and prayer. You have my sincere sympathy.
