Linda Dwyer's Obituary
Linda Seibert Dwyer, age 80, of Denver, NC, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 26, 2025.
Born in Akron, Ohio, Linda was the daughter of Robert E. and Martha M. Harnar. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Kenneth R. Seibert, her stepson Kenny Seibert, and her son-in-law Jim Young.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Lawrence (Larry) L. Dwyer of Denver, NC; her daughter Jennifer Miller (Kevin) and grandchildren Braxton and Reese Miller of Mooresville, NC. She is also survived by her stepdaughters Cheryl Seibert Young of Sparta, TN; Robin Seibert of Orlando, FL; and Erin Murtha (Tim) of Charlotte, NC; and her stepsons Chris Dwyer (Laura) of Philadelphia, PA; and Mark Dwyer (Jennifer) of Fort Mill, SC.
Linda deeply loved her blended family, including her step-grandchildren Cara Young-Martin and Halee Roberts, Nicole Seibert Stolz, Sarah and Ian Gillespie, Jay and Nolan Dwyer, and Lauren and Grace Murtha. She is also survived by her siblings Marcia Shipley and Nancy Seikel, both of Akron, OH; her brother Robert Harnar (Marsha) of Indian Land, SC; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Linda attended the University of Akron and spent her career serving the public as a Field Representative and Auditor for the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles under the Department of Public Safety where she won more awards that we can count. After retiring and following her mother’s passing, she relocated to Huntersville, NC to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren—whom she adored.
In 2009, Linda found love again and married Larry in a beautiful ceremony in Charleston, SC. Together, they embraced retirement with a sense of adventure, traveling extensively throughout the United States and abroad. Linda and Larry were passionate about giving back, volunteering through their church and local community outreach efforts around Lake Norman.
Linda was a fierce advocate for children, serving as a Guardian ad Litem in Cabarrus County. She also volunteered at the front desk of the Urban Ministry Center in downtown Charlotte and was a lifelong servant leader in her churches, including her role as an elder. While living in Ohio, she was the moderator at Fairlawn-West UCC in Akron and led several small groups. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she loved to share it with others through acts of kindness, service, and love.
Linda’s life was marked by grit, compassion, strength, and grace. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she loved so deeply.
A celebration of life service will be held at James Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 3 with a reception to follow at James Funeral Home in the Community Room.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Alzheimer's Association research in memory of Mom.
James Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family.
