π· In Loving Memory of a Remarkable Woman: Linda May Walcoff (Manookian)
November 23, 1948 β October 30, 2025
It is with profound sadness and immense love that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Linda May Walcoff (Manookian), Stanley, NC β a devoted wife to the late Steven Walcoff, mother to Nicole Zonin and husband William and Tracy Giancaspro and husband Sergio, grandmother to Jessica Litchman and husband Adam, Tyler Zonin and wife Heather, Shayne Zonin, Isabella & Michael Giancaspro, and Alex Zonin, great-grandmother to Leah , Colton, and Paxton loving aunt to Lori, Brian and Kim, Jason, and Kristin, and dear friend , who left this world peacefully on October 30, 2025, surrounded by her family and the love she so generously gave throughout her life.
Linda was the heart and anchor of our family β a woman whose strength, grace, and compassion shaped generations. She lived her life with purpose, guided by faith, love, and a deep desire to help others. To all who knew her, she was a steady presence of kindness, empathy, and understanding β a caregiver not only by profession or role, but by nature.
She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Steven (9/14/2012), and together they built a home grounded in love, laughter, and faith. As a mother, she poured her soul into raising her children, teaching them the importance of compassion, perseverance, and integrity. As a grandmother and great-grandmother, she found her greatest joy in the laughter of her family and the continuation of her values through each new generation.
To her many nieces and nephews, she was lovingly known as Aunt Linda β a second mother, mentor, and source of strength. Her home was a haven for family and friends alike β always filled with warmth, wisdom, and the smell of something delicious cooking on the stove. Her love was limitless, her door always open, her advice always wise, and her hugs always healing.
Lindaβs selflessness knew no boundaries. She had an extraordinary ability to sense when someone was hurting and an even greater gift for offering comfort and hope. She gave of herself constantly β time, energy, love β and asked for nothing in return. Her life was a living example of what it means to love without condition.
Her empathy and compassion were at the center of everything she did. She cared for family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers with the same tenderness and sincerity. She believed that helping others was not a choice but a calling β and she answered that call every single day of her life.
In addition to her heart for others, Linda possessed an incredible thirst for knowledge. She valued education deeply and never stopped learning. Whether through formal classes, reading, or simply asking thoughtful questions, she sought understanding and truth in all things. Her dedication to continuing her education, even into her later years, was a reflection of her strength and determination β proof that her mind was as vibrant and curious as her spirit. She believed that learning kept her young and connected, and she inspired everyone around her to never stop growing.
Even through lifeβs challenges, Linda remained steadfast and resilient. She faced adversity with grace, met sorrow with faith, and approached every new day with gratitude. Her quiet strength was her superpower β steady, constant, and rooted in love.
Her legacy is one of unconditional love, endless giving, and unshakable perseverance. She taught us that true greatness lies not in what we accomplish for ourselves, but in what we give to others. Her compassion, wisdom, and strength continue to guide us, lighting our way as we strive to live as she did β with humility, courage, and an open heart.
Though we grieve her passing, we celebrate a life lived fully and beautifully. Linda leaves behind not only a family who adored her, but a world made better by her kindness. Her love will echo through generations β in every act of empathy, in every word of comfort, and in every moment we choose to keep learning, loving, and helping others, just as she did.
Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever missed.
The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, November 8 at James Funeral Home with visitation 1-2 prior.
