I was Mrs. Peck’s Financial Advisor for many years. I met her at her florist Shop one afternoon and she became one of my favorite clients and a friend later. Martha was a born entrepreneur with a touch for business unlike many others. My wife still remembers the roses that I sent her at work from Martha’s florist. She said “they are a perfect arrangement”.
She was a wonderful cook and often made lunch for me and others. She even called me one day at my office downtown and told me to come downstairs, because she had made me a picnic basket of the best fried chicken and all the fixens including dessert. Needless to say, I was the envy of the office as it created that wonderful smell throughout the place.
Russel Peck was a client of mine and soon after Martha became a client. To my pleasant surprise they were married later. What a great couple they made together.
My wife, Anne and I attended one of Mrs.Pecks birthday party’s held at a South Park hotel and I noticed that the family called her “Gran Martha” (named by her granddaughter Stephanie). I think this is how all the people that knew her felt about her. She was indeed a Grand Martha.
I will always remember how good she was to me and how she cared for me as a friend. I was so fortunate and a better person to have had her pass my way in my lifetime.
