Mary Elaine Hart's Obituary
Mary-Elaine Hart, 66, of Cornelius, NC, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 30, 2023, after her courageous fight against cancer.
She was born on January 15th, 1957, in Detroit MI, to Robert and Elaine Howe, as the only daughter of seven. Growing up with six brothers, family and faith became the forefront of Mary-Elaine’s life.
Mary-Elaine was the most loving, caring, and compassionate individual, that inspired everyone she encountered through her infectious smile and positive outlook on life. She embraced friends as family, and never knew a stranger. Mary-Elaine enjoyed an active lifestyle, a “dot” of wine, game nights, visits to the beach, and boat rides on Lake Norman.
Though, Mary-Elaine’s most valued accomplishment was becoming a mother to her four children, Maureen, Catherine, Kevin and Michael. She led by example and instilled in them the importance of positivity, kindness and generosity. She was an amazing mother, but also their best friend.
Mary-Elaine’s legacy is carried on by her four loving children, her daughter-in-law, Mary-Taylor Hart, her brothers Robert A. Howe, Jr. (Sandy), Richard A. Howe (Anne), Thomas P. Howe (Marybeth), Andrew J. Howe, and David B. Howe (Cathy), her sister-in-law Patty Howe, and her many nieces and nephews. She is reunited with her mother and father, brother Dennis Howe, and nephew Blaise Howe.
Our family is comforted knowing that Mary-Elaine is in the loving arms of God, our father, in heaven, shining down upon us.
Her memorial service will be held Saturday August 12th, 2023, at Saint Mark’s Catholic Church in Huntersville, NC at 10:30 am. Celebration of Life to follow at The Peninsula Club.
