Mary Frances Ramaikas' Obituary
Mrs. Mary Frances Ramaikas R.N. (McCourt) of Huntersville, N.C. passed away Saturday January 14, 2023.
Mary received her Nursing Degree and was a proud graduate of SUNY Farmingdale College in 1976. Mary most recently served as Asst. Director of Nursing and rose to level of Director of Nursing at Port St Lucie Rehab Center in Florida.
Mary is a native of Long Island, NY. And a long time resident of Stuart, FL. Mary was a devout Catholic and received the Sacrament of Last Rites while in Hospice care at Novant Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Mary enjoyed following her beloved NY Mets, caring for her cat Spooky, Florida Happy Hours and a Bacardi and Diet Coke with her dear friends the entire Staff at Duckworth's in Huntersville NC. She was preceded in death by her husband Alexander Ramaikas (2017) her parents John McCourt and Virginia Gaerttner and sister Ruth Gaerttner of PA.
Mary is survived by her children Carol Schaub (Vinny) of Huntersville NC, Marian Ramaikas of Asheville NC, and Michael Ramaikas(Denise) of Raleigh NC. Her brother John McCourt (Lois) of Central Islip NY, sister Trudy Benson (Frank) of Erie, PA., Brother Bill Gaerttner of California, and brother Gerry Gaerttner (Linda) of PA.
Two grandchildren Maureen Swanson (Schaub) (Mark) of Warrington PA. and Daniel Schaub (Christina) of Setauket, NY. Four great grandchildren Eleanor, Evelyn, Christopher and Nicholas. And many nieces and nephews that she adored and loved so much keeping up to date with their many successes.
Mary's wish was to be cremated with no formal viewing service. As was so typical of Mary she didn't want to inconvenience her many friends and family that would have needed to travel.
In lieu of flowers, Mary who supported many charities would be so proud if you chose to make a donation to a charity that is dear to you in her name.
