Janet, I direct this message to you. My friend, classmate, N Meck Swim team member. My Momma- Evelyn, and your Momma were childhood classmates and friends way before our time. Mrs. Taylor always maintained a direct line of communication with my Mom during our Junior high and High School days. She definately took the time and exercised the passion on my behalf in those Algebra workbooks at Alexander. Then,a couple years later , continued this passion for our Generation by coaching the North Meck Swim Team. Mrs Taylor made so many road trips to North Charlotte from Island Forest to coach us at the Beatties Ford rd YMCA. All before we had Interstate 77. Thinking back- I realize how much YOUR Momma loved us all.

She will always be to me, Mrs.Taylor. Mrs. Taylor was my ninth grade Algebra teacher at Alexander Junior High School. I truly loved having her as my teacher. I never grasped the rudimentary Algebraic formulas. Regardless, Mrs. Taylor's patience with me never ended. I have never forgotten her. In fact, somehow we reconnected in the past ten years. She even listened to a few of my sports broadcasts. I stopped to visit with her a few years ago -her pleasant personality, in tact. Mrs. Taylor was great, just great. I pray that every student, every person is fortunate enough to have a Mrs.Taylor in their lives.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Mary Ann's family. She was so wonderful to me as a first year teacher at Alexander. I knew that she loved teaching from the first moment I met her and she made such an impact on so many students. I know how much fun we had on our adventures and how much she loved being with our Alexander family. She even got me to like math, just a little bit. I cannot thank her enough for her support and will miss her.

Mary Ann came to me for massage therapy at The Pines. Whenever she left her appointment, I was always smiling & laughing at one of her stories. One of my favorites was of the dog you all had. She told me that dog was the best babysitter; whenever one of you would get too close to the water near the shore, that dog would drag you by the diaper back to safety! Mary Ann was authentic and a true original. I shall never forget her; she really left this world a better place.

Mrs. Taylor was one of my all-time favorite teachers. But better than that, she was such an awesome, sweet person. Always enjoyed chatting with her at my shop or anywhere I saw her. Anytime I saw any of her family, I always checked on her. Sure gonna miss her. Can't make the memorial service, sorry.

Mary Ann and I were friends from the young age of 10 years. We went to the same church and often went to each other's home on Sunday afternoon and then came back on Sunday evening to church again. That's right, we were Baptists! From the age of 10 to 12 we were in a Bible Scripture Memory Work Tournament for several years and each year were able to learn all the verses as we went through local, regional and state competitions. The two of us lost track for a few years but in recent years we have kept in touch on a regular basis. Special friendships have a way of working like that. Our last conversation was about old times, good friends, and sprinkled throughout with huge laughter. How blessed I was to have this wonderful lady in my life. God speed, dear friend.
